Born in India, Beenu Govind Rao was exposed to art from an early age and showed promise in the creative arts. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Stella Maris College, Chennai, which accelerated her creative passion.

Undaunted by any art medium, Beenu has experimented and mastered most forms of art – drawing, painting, beading, terra-cotta jewelry, porcelain painting, crochet, sewing, stage designs, dance make-up, cooking (yes, she firmly believes cooking is an art too – just listen to those who have tasted her culinary delights), stage design and make-up for dance performances.  Her inner creative energy comes forth in full effulgence in these varied art forms.

In India, telling someone that they will make a Golden Bangle for the hand that has created something exquisite is the highest compliment one would receive.  Beenu would receive this time and again.

Her work is primarily the result of her need to Create; it is both a challenge and an outlet; a discipline and a passion.  Inspiration for Beenu can pop up at any time and in any place. She is not confined to one subject area, preferring to vary her projects and media. She defines her work as a balance between mastery of technique, an opinion to express and an emotional reaction.

Art to Beenu is akin to meditation that stirs the inner soul, manifesting itself into stunning creations. She firmly believes that everyone has the potential to be artistic.  Her technical knowledge, good communication skills and a pleasing personality makes her a great teacher that can enable others to reach into their inner creativity.
